Seven Chakra Meditation

Chakra Meditation

Understanding Chakras

In our body, chakras or wheel-shaped energy centers connect the physical and material planes with the spiritual. Vedic, Tantric, and Upanishadic texts describe chakra meditation as a quest for self-awareness and liberation. In the ancient yoga tradition of chakra meditation, the inner and outer dimensions of energy are tapped to create positive connections between the body and the mind.

The spinal cord contains 109 chakras, seven of which are energy centers. The flow of energy in these chakras can be blocked by negative emotions if they are not activated, affecting the balance of other chakras.

Why meditate on the chakras?

Our chakras are points of sensation that are deeply associated with our emotions, both positive and negative. In chakra meditation, we are able to awaken hidden spiritual energies within ourselves. Activating and freeing the flow of energies through this mediation promotes mental and emotional peace, and well-being.

By meditating on the chakras, we can relieve our bodies and minds of everyday stress, emotional triggers, and physical illnesses. As a result, one is empowered for self-healing, concentration, energy, and immune system improvement. We become more mindful and one with ourselves when we channel our inner consciousness. Today, psychology, colour therapy, and childhood development have also recognized the potential of chakra meditation.

How?

Mantras, visualisations, affirmation and breathing techniques are combined to conduct this session. In order to align one's thoughts and feelings with the energy chakras, each of the seven chakras is described with its characteristics and functions.
